Founder's vision & message

Ms Sharda Radhakrishnan, Founder Trustee of PRCA–Chhaya, has played a key role in building the charity NGO into a dedicated animal welfare institution in Kolkata, West Bengal. Under her guidance, PRCA–Chhaya, Kolkata, West Bengal, has focused on rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating injured, abandoned, and vulnerable animals. The NGO’s vision is to ensure compassion, dignity, and lifelong care for animals in need, while its mission is to provide rescue, medical treatment, shelter, sterilisation, and rehabilitation services. 

Ms Sharda Radhakrishnan has helped expand the charity NGO through major projects such as animal rescue operations, free veterinary treatment, animal birth control programmes, vaccination drives, cattle care, and permanent sanctuary services. The organisation welcomes volunteers from students, families, professionals, and corporate groups, although an exact volunteer count is not publicly disclosed.
