Adharwad is a renowned NGO founded in 2005. Headquartered in Mumbai, this NGO for differently abled and seniors in need also has a sister office in Panvel, Mumbai. Adharwad's prime focus is to help seniors live a respectful life and uplift both men and women in need. A lot of elderly are left stranded on the streets of Mumbai as they suffer from health conditions like paralysis and Alzheimer's. To ensure such women and men are taken care of properly, the NGO runs old age home where proper care is given.

Adharwad is one of the most active NGOs of Maharashtra that's registered with the Indian government with Registration number (E/3968/Thane) and also bearing the ISO 9001:2015 certification. The NGO has been active for almost 2 decades in the region and during this timespan, it has benefitted over 11000 individuals. Over 1200 volunteers are enrolled with this NGO and are the backbone to this Mumbai nonprofit for senior citizens.

Founder's vision & message

Mrs. Sangeeta Rajendra Bhagwat is the founder of Adharwad, Maharashtra's leading NGO for senior citizens and disabled. A passionate social worker and activist, she constantly works for the betterment of lives of the senior citizens across Mumbai, Maharashtra. On coming across the problems faced by the old people, she voluntarily started an old age home and this was the beginning of her journey as the founder of Adharwad NGO, Mumbai.

To provide aid to the bedridden, aged people was her primary sense of inspiration. She has been working for the elderly without discrimination based on gender, caste, and colour. Her thought of providing shelter to the destitute women was also a major inspiration behind her starting the nonprofit for senior citizen in Mumbai. This NGO brings vast range of resources for needy and continues to grow under the leadership of Mrs. Sangeeta.
